What is microneedling/Collagen Induction Therapy and how does it work?

MicroNeedling, also called Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is an aesthetic medical procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles (microneedling the skin) in order to induce endogenous production of cutaneous collagen.

Percutaneous collagen induction ( PCI ) therapy or medical microneedling is a technique where a fractional microneedling device with fine microneedles has been shown to increase the remodeling of the skin by creating thousands of microscopic channels through the skin, to increase the formation of new tissue by activating the body’s wound healing cascade (hemostasis-inflammation-proliferation-tissue remodeling). It is also referred to as a non-ablative skin treatment. This means that the deeper parts of the skin are treated without removing the top layer of skin.

Why is our system better?

We offer state-of-the-art medical grade high speed micro-needling systems. It offers the same results as a fractional laser without pain, downtime, expense, and thermal damage.

Our system uses an exclusive disposable 12-pin needle-head, which allows to control the depth of penetration (0,25 – 2,50 mm) and speed of the needles, up to 110 cycles/second, resulting in almost 1300 microchannels per second, that’s 20% faster than most first generation devices!

Benefits of microneedling

  • Kickstart collagen production
  • Help correct facial scarring including acne scars and surgical scars.
  • Help reduce wrinkles and fine lines
  • Help improve skin tone, texture, pore size and discoloration
  • Help improve stretch marks
  • Help speed up the absorption of topical serums
  • Help with hair growth

Before and After Transformations

What areas of the body can be treated - am I a good candidate?

Microneedling can be used on all skin types and is a valuable tool to treat a variety of skin concerns such as: facial rejuvenation, scarring (acne, surgical), stretch marks, pigmentation disorders and alopecia. Microneedling isn’t exclusive to just the face area. The treatment can be done anywhere the skin on the body needs to be thickened, particularly those that have stretch marks, like the legs, chest, or butt, and 4 to 6 sessions on average usually do the trick.

What will the treatment feel like and how long is the downtime?

In most cases, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin prior to treatment to reduce discomfort and the procedure is pain free. The downtime is minimal; however, patients may experience redness for 12 to 48 hours afterward.

When will I see the results?

Usually you will notice some improvement after the first or second treatment. More significant results will occur after 3-6 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Collagen remodeling takes place over time. Skin will continue to improve over the next 6 to 12 months post treatments with proper skin care regimen. Results will vary in each patient.
